The municipality of five thousand people is located to the west of Sloans Lake with excellent views over the water to Denver's skyline as well as views to the Rocky Mountains.  Sheridan Boulevard, a major commercial thoroughfare and state highway, separates the town from the lake.  Working jointly with Progressive Urban Management urban design guidelines were developed to improve the integration of new commercial projects with the economic and aesthetic strengths of Edgewater.  Public improvements as well as private project design elements were proposed to support the economic development strategy.  Emphasis was given to a healthy and inviting pedestrian environment and fitting with the community's stated goals for the character of their town.
