Edgewater Civic Center

The architectural work for the City of Edgewater Civic Center is an outgrowth an urban design analysis and new design driven zoning commissioned by the municipality. The comprehensive effort by the city to guide new development, set quality standards and revamp the city's own facilities led them to develop this project. The municipal functions are consolidated in one building which is a converted abandoned grocery store. With more space than the administrative, police, courts and recreation functions currently need the building is organized around a winter garden and lobby area with a zone of future expansion arranged at the perimeter. The site is also larger than is needed and guidelines are in place to support the development of continuous mid rise commercial buildings at the street frontage.
