Summit Business Park

This project required creation of a new scale and order for building on a rural site with few natural features other than a slight hill. The new roadway adapts to the topography and gives similar proportions to the parcels while establishing sites near the road which are more appropriate for agricultural retail uses and interior sites for warehouses with attached offices and hidden storage yards. A prototype for offices to be visible from the state highway is based on the typical farmstead of the area with the buildings having been abstracted and slightly enlarged to give a clue to their new uses. As a group the buildings create a central outdoor space with more domesticated landscaping and protection from the wind and harsh sunlight.
