This is an urban design scheme for new mixed used development on a seventy acre site in Thornton, Colorado. Care was taken to incorporate residential uses and to link all sites and amenities with inviting walkways to reduce dependency on cars. The process involved translating a digital survey into a fully rendered site plan incorporating a range of building types. Detailed design guidelines were developed through research and sketching with the client to determine the most suitable vocabulary of lighting, furnishings, signs and architectural elements.
